The Alaska Railroad rostered many locomotives from different builders, from ALCO, Rogers, Baldwin, EMD to name a few. Some locomotives were rebuilt into ARR only oddballs. Here is an oddball locomotive.

No. 1300 was an only locomotive oddity on the ARR, a Baldwin VO1000. The 1300 was a 1,000 hp locomotive built in 1945, it was acquired by the ARR sometime around 1948-49 and was retired around 1957. 1300 sat around Birchwood for years and was scrapped around 1968, probably with some of the RF1s and RSD-1s.

Known to be able to move just about anything, legend has it it was the heaviest locomotive on the ARR until the 1800s arrived in the 1960s. Photos of the 1300 are rare. Bowser released a 1300 a few years ago and it's pretty spot on, with an evening and some details, you too can have a unique model. Here is a link to learn more on this locomotive.
