Several GP7s were sold recently by the ARRC. As you can see, the ARR markings
are crossed out and are marked with BDLX. Nos. 1801, 1803, 1808 and 1809
were sold to Alaska Metal Recycling, who in turn found a buyer in the lower
48 - one BDL Company. They are a small time loco rebuilder who sells/leases
rebuilt locos to small railroads. BDL then contracted ARRC to do repairs
on the 4 units to make them road-worthy enough to be moved to the lower
48. These photos were taken in August of 1998 outside the Anchorage diesel
shop.
