Eyewitnesses to Monday night's Alaska
Railroad wreck about nine miles north of Healy called it a "real, bad wreck."
Eighteen cars are strewn crazily along more than a quarter of mile of track.
None of the five man crew aboard the train at the time of the accident
was hurt. Railroad officials believe the wreck was caused by a broken wheel.
Service was restored about 9:30 last night. (Photo courtesy of Fairbanks
