Z Scale in France

Hello!

Just wanted to send you a little message to thank you for this amazing website and documentation you have created over the years. I'm from France and knew little to nothing about the Alaska Railroad, one of the toughest railroads of the world regarding the weather conditions it sometimes operates. I've been looking all over your website for the past days, learning about it more and more.

And now you got me; having some Z scale stuff laying here and there, I'm drooling over the idea of making a ARR layout in this scale! Having a few US freight cars from AZL and 4x McKinley Explorer cars (static Z scale models, I need to find them suitable trucks), I lack a motorized locomotive for now but looking forward to buying the F7's from AZL and cabooses. I also have 4x static steamers (they came with the McKinley Explorers) that are extremely close if not identical to the 400 series of the ARR. I'll try to motorize one.

'Tis all your fault! (thank you!)

I'm sending you a copy of the main track plan of the project layout, featuring keys elements from the railroad. The advantage of Z scale is the space saving abilities it has: this impressive track plan measures only 3m10*1m20 (approx 10ft x 4ft) and would be established on thick Styrofoam boards, given the lightness of the equipment.

Again, thank you for this wonderful website you created and keep up the good work!

Best regards and respects.

Thomas.
