The reefer fleet was built in 1947 from both Troop Sleepers and Troop Kitchens.  Most had an 8 foot plug door on the left side for fork lift loading on the docks in Seward, and a standard reefer hinged 4' door set on the right side.    Here is my first reefer built from the prototype which is a storage shed in an Eagle River hardware store.   As far as I know this is the last complete reefer left in Alaska and I am working on the owner to get it donated to the Museum when he is done with it.
