2-22-05 I spent the last week painting the walls
of my train room with Alaska scenery. I know it is not professional,
but I think this will do. What do you think? I still have two more walls
to paint yet, but won't do that until I finish this part of the layout.
I will then expand the layout to the rest of the room. I think that
will be a long time off. LOL. I have a lot of work as it is to get it
done. I figure this was the time to paint the walls as I am waiting
for parts for my FP7 project.

3-10-05 It is amazing what you can do with cardboard,
staples, masking tape, newspaper, plaster and paper towels. I now have
my platform contoured. Things are taking shape. I also built a valley
and stream that will go in it.

3-23-05 I got my bridges and trestles in place now.
I had to assemble most of the bridges and trestle. The smaller trestle
I created using balsa wood. I have to start making my rock formations
to add to the layout then the ballast for the track. I am getting more
done then I thought I would. It is a lot of fun!! I thought I would
show off my Overland SD70MAC in the pictures.

6-5-05 I have gotten to the next stage in my room.
I have the base colors on the entire layout. I have used almost 75lbs
of plaster to get things to where they are now. I will start on the
detailing next. As you can see I have been bsuy for a while!! LOL

9-15-05 I now have my background for future custom
painted models. I am still going to have a railyard. I have decided
that coal will be my industry in the railyard as well as containerization.
I will be looking into starting my FP7s soon.

| 01-27-06 Here is the final pictures of Part 1 of my
trainroom. I was going to give you pictures from start to finish of my
Coal Mine Operation. The UMC Harold version. LOL I used the New River
Mine Company and had my custom decaler make UMC Decals for me to at least
make it look like an Alaska Mine Co. Used rust paint to weather the building
and then created the land scape around the building. |
