Harold Emerick's Flatcars

Flatcar Flatcar
I had three 50-foot flatcars that I stripped and repainted for my Alaska Railroad collection. I need to get into my airbrushing style so when I get to the difficult items I will be ready for it. I can't tell you who made the flatcars as they are probably 20+ yrs old. They were sitting in a box of old train cars so I recycled them. I used Scalecoat II Tuscan Red and decals from Randy Thompson's collection (aka Roundhouse Hobbies). Then dull coated the three flats and bought flatcar loads to put on them.

I was at a train show last Saturday picked up some flat cars ( 60 ft, 75 ft for Whittier Shuttle, and Funnel flow tank cars). I customed 5 flat cars all 60ft, two using Randy Thompson's decals and three using Curt Fortenberry's. These Flat cars are 60ft in two different paint schemes. B&O Royal Blue with yellow letters and Tuscan Red with Yellow lettering The decals are available from two sources Randy Thompson (Tuscan red with yellow lettering & Curt Fortenberry B&O Royal Blue with yellow lettering) All paints were Scalecoat II and then Dullcoted. Loads come from several sources. 2/14/07
