Harold Emerick's TNM Hoppers

TNM hoppers TNM hoppers
In order to accomplish creating the TNM Hoppers you need to first find a 4-bay hopper. The best fit is the Walthers 100 Ton Quad Hoppers (out of production). I found a 6 pack kit at a train show for $49.99. I understand that Walthers is coming out with a ready to run series, but think they will be in single boxes. I took the decals off with nail polish remover and then matched as closely as possible the yellow on the end of hopper. I decided this was Floquil Reefer Yellow (water base). I painted the appropriate end white (Scalecoat II), then the Yellow, masked off the yellow to paint the black. This was a three-day job! Assembled and touched up the hoppers. Then I acquired the Decals from Randy Thompson at Roundhouse Hobbies. These decal sets do two hoppers and have everything you need to complete them. I then applied two coats of Testors Dull Cote.
