P30

I started with an IHC E8 B unit ( Rio Grande), I stripped it with a product named Chameleon. I have used break fluid on other models, but I was worried that because of the thin plastic, it would be the safe way to go. I washed it in soap and water ( dish deterent) and let it dry . Then I painted the unit white, then Reefer Yellow.  I then masked off the top part and ends and painted it Royal Blue. Then I measured and painted the lower border with Royal Blue. I masked off the grills to paint them Aluminum.  I then masked off the trucks and painted them silver. I painted the red dots on the fuel tanks with Chinese Red. Then I started to gather the decals. Unfortunately, I didn't have the number P-30 for the yellow stripe. I found someone that custom decals and he made me the decal. I supplied the pictures for both John's website and Robert Krol's photos. Then I had what I needed. I used decals from Curt Fortenberry's passenger decals, Randy Thompsons P-30 decal set and the custom decals I had made.  After decaling was finished I put a  clear gloss coat on the unit.  All paint used was Scalecoat II.
