EMD MRS-1 was originally owned by the US Navy as 63-00570. ARR picked up about a dozen EMD and Alco MRS-1s that were surplus and stored in Erie, PA.
The Alaska Railroad renumbered this one to 570 and then 1714. This is the first time I've seen it numbered 70.
