100 Years Ago

There are a lot of significant events from 100 years ago that are coming up on the Alaska Railroad calendar. The following is a series of submissions by Alaska Railroad enthusiasts. Feel free to send your write-ups for inclusion here as well.

Jonathan Fischer describes a little about historic events - Things were hopping in Alaska and in Washington DC 100 years ago. About 100 years ago, on February 6, 1913, lame duck president Howard Taft submitted the report of the Alaska Railroad Commission to Congress. Here is a brief summary of the report, including anecdotal information I've included from other sources.
