3008 lash-up

Alaska Railroad #4327 backs down the south leg of the wye in the Anchorage yard while ARR 2002 waits on the Northland Spur track.

The 4327 is the lead unit of today’s northbound passenger train. It will back down to the switch for the mainline and then pull into the Anchorage Depot for loading.

The Anchorage skyline looms in the background on this perfect spring morning, June 6, 2013. It will be a great day for taking train pictures.
