The Cruise Train at the Anchorage depot. If these passenger cars don't look familiar then let me take you back in history a bit. Nine former Southern Pacific Bilevel cars (built in 1954 by ACF) were purchased by Tour Alaska and placed in service. Tour Alaska was eventually purchased by Princess. As Robert Krol stated, "The Cruise Train normally ran with 6 coaches; on heavy days we would add the 7th and sometimes up to 9 cars on the Cruise train. The coaches were numbered 1-10." Eventually the Alaska Railroad acquired three, repainted them and assigned numbers 600, 601 and 602. In 2007, the railroad sold them and they scattered to the winds. As of 1/11/25, 600 was sold for salvage, 601 resides in Delta Junction and 602 is brew@602 in Soldotna,
