ARR 2502 is serving on the Palmer local and was the photo was taken shortly after the image of the 2502 at MP 148. In this photograph, the train has been turned on the wye at Matanuska Junction and the train has been pushed up the branch by the 2502. Interestingly, the locomotive still has the short hood facing north, so it must have retraced its path thru the wye after turning the train. The overcast day gives the summer color in the foreground a chance to glow.
