Once again

Once again

Once again, the Aurora Winter Passenger Train is hauling freight as well as passengers:

PHOTO 1: Here it comes, rumbling past Wasilla’s Extreme Fun Center.  I wonder if the kids who go inside to play have as much fun as I do, hanging out in the cold with Sancho, waiting, watching, listening just to take a picture?

They probably do. Kids know how to have fun. But I doubt they have more fun than I do out here. Just as much, maybe, but not more. Why is this so much fun for me? I don’t know.

PHOTO 2: Next, the train passes The Valley Cinema, goes round the bend and heads toward Lowe’s. It will never reach Lowe’s, but will bend left and continue on toward Fairbanks. The people who walk about in the Lowe’s parking lot will surely hear the Aurora’s whistle, but they will not catch even a glimpse of the train. I know. I’ve been in Lowe’s parking lot when a train has passed by below. I’ve heard the whistle, but have not seen the train.

As for The Valley Cinema, Margie and I have not been to a theater movie in at least a year. We are both vaccinated now. Her’s should be fully kicked in, mine should be in just a few days. Maybe we will go to a movie again, soon. For sure, we plan to ride this very train very soon. Maybe next weekend, depending on what the weather forecast looks like. If by Wednesday or Thursday the forecast looks good, then we will book seats on this train. If not, depending on what’s playing, we’ll go to a movie, eat popcorn and hold hands.
