On this occasion, freshly painted ARR 2001 was given the honors of the Whittier Shuttle, on a Sunday in early May 1986.
First seen near Rainbow, the train was also spotted southbound at Indian, Girdwood, and Kern and Portage. ARR 5200 was also noted at Portage.
