DR-MP-G10.05

Thursday, 09 January 2025: Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) Fairbanks Yard Job ties back onto their train at MP-G10.05 on the ARRC’s Eielson Branch. Having run North to Chapados to runaround their train they are working their way back South, having just spotted one empty at K&K Recycling. They are now bound for the U.S. Army’s at Fort Wainwright just 3 miles to the South with a string of military equipment on the heat pin that will be spotted at the unloading ramps on base. After the military loads are spotted they will continue South spotting coal loads at the bases power plant before pulling returning to Fairbanks yard just ahead of the Eielson crew. Todays power for the return trip is lone GP40-2 3012, however for the Northbound run it was joined by the yard job to Eielson with GP38-2’s 2004 and 2008 with 30 plus additional coal loads.
