Memories Lost...Memories Found

So Frank Keller posted a gorgeous shot recently that I commented on and asked 'when was it?' He replied 'you were with me.'

Hah, so I was. I had no recollection at all, but then again he and I had more great evenings wandering around Elmendorf Air Force Base and Fort Richardson like we owned the place than I can remember. The number of gorgeous and rarely shot locations kept drawing us back, and we took full advantage of our privileges to get out on post and shoot trains.

So here's to great memories with the best friend a guy could ask for...even if I've forgotten a few of them!

The long days of the waning summer offer just enough 'purple hour' light to capture the nightly departure of the train 130N just a few miles into its 356 mile run across the Last Frontier from Anchor town to the Golden Heart City. The three big SD70MACs have a a pair of geeps along presumably going up for Fairbanks yard or local duty. Here is the train rolling through CP1198 and over the Davis Highway grade crossing and over the switch that leads up to the old Fort Richardson yards.
