Valentine's Delight

Valentine's Delight

On this gorgeous late winter day the Alaska Railroad (ARR) ran a pair of sold out 'Kids Valentines Trains' on the Saturday before Valentines Day making the scenic round trip from Anchorage to Indian and back.

In this going away view we see the southbound 3 PM train consisting of 8 coaches sandwiched between two SD70MACs curling along beside the icy waters of Turnagain Arm here north of Falls Creek at about MP 91.5 on the ARR's Kenai Subdivision mainline. The Seward Highway is wedged between the railroad, and the Chugach Mountains and famed 'gorilla rock' is immediately behind me.
