The Alaskan Way To Go

By Land, By Sea, By Air....if the railroad can't take you there you take to the skies, rivers and lakes to travel across the vast wilderness that is the 49th state.  With more pilots per capita than any other state in the nation Alaskans love to take to the skies.

Here a couple of pilots tend to their float planes moored up at the small dock at the south end of Upper Trail Lake as the northbound daily (in summer) Coastal Classic passenger train crosses over the Trail River at MP 29.5 on their return to Anchorage from Seward with an SD70MAC/GP40-2 combo in charge.
