Straight on

The morning freight train crosses the Knik River toward Anchorage on its return from Fairbanks just before the officially risen sun makes it over the mountains. Given the gloomy weather forecast for the next several days coupled with the rapidly declining daylight hours this may well have been my last opportunity to shoot the freight here until next year. The passenger train will still cross in daylight but only comes twice a week now. August 24, 2020
