Straight on

When I first started this crazy but great fun Alaska train project, I would generally post a picture of the up front locomotives, followed by a few of the freight cars following behind. As fun as that was, it struck me that a single picture generally has more impact. I then began to post mostly single pics, almost all featuring the locomotives. Last night, I went with the single of the train pulling the pipes across the Palmer Hay Flats. There were several elements about that picture I liked best, like the way the pipes, completely shaded from the setting sun, glow in the shadows. But I had debated other images, this one of military vehicles being hauled north, presumably to Fort Wainwright, among them. When I look at this image on my iMac 27 inch screen, it sings. When I look at it on my phone it doesn’t look like much at all. I planned to post a different picture this morning, but decided to go ahead and post these military vehicles, anyway. August 2020
