Aurora winter train

The Aurora winter passenger train arcs past the Frequent School Bus and ARR Locomotive #557, the last steam engine to serve the Alaska Railroad.

“Well then,” you challenge me in sarcastic tones, “Where is ARR Steam Engine #557? I don’t see a steam engine!” If you were Superman and could use your X-ray vision you would see it. Engine 557 is in the 557 Restoration Company building to the right being rebuilt. I originally had it in mind to shoot this image from the other side so the Engine 557 logo and sign could clearly be seen on the wall facing the tracks, along with some beautiful, snowy mountains in the background, but then I saw the Frequent School Bus parked out back and decided to try this angle instead. 10/12/20
