This was a large slide that came down in the exact same area of a previous photo in this series that showed the moon over Garner Tunnel and wheel marks in the ties after a derailment. The sudden movement of this area was usually less severe than this particular occurrence but, the thought of a Passenger Train going by at the same time this happened is enough to make any MOW officer stay awake at night. The new line change bypassing Garner Tunnel gets the track away from most of this slide but, only time will tell if it is far enough away to avoid future problems.
