Plow drift in Whittier: This photo shows a ballast regulator plowing through the drift that often develops outside of Door 1 in Whittier. The extremely high winds (125 mph+) that come down through the pass can create very large drifts even, like in this photo, when there has not been an appreciable amount of snowfall. |
