Shades of the Past. Today the company work train was distributing continuous welded rail (CWR)between Anchorage Depot and Post Road crossing on the Passenger Main. What made this a special catch was the five GPs in all three paint schemes, Baby MAC, Bold Alaska and freight (black and yellow). I can't remember the last time I saw five Geeps on a train, two to three not five, not since the early 2000s, before MACs ruled most all trains. I hope, I pray to see them highball on the high iron trail and hair the sounds of quintet of EMD 645s. 6/27/2020 Frank Keller adds, "This was an extra company work train. The regular train was still up north." Photo courtesy of Mike Gerenday |
