While it has been cloudy, wet and rainy for a few weeks now. I did get a chance to get out tonight and take a few pictures of something I have never seen in Alaska before. A non-Alaska Railroad painted locomotive. The railroad has had them in Alaska for various reasons before I moved here this was a first for me. And while the weather was wet there was some drama in the sky and a hint of what one could consider sun but I'll let you decide. In any event here are a couple of photo from tonight's outing.

This pretty much captures what most tourists get to see in July and August mountains capped by clouds. SD70MAC 4009 leads a UP interloper north with a freight of pipe and frac sand from Seward.

Another view around the sweeping curve at Girdwood. Shortly after this the clouds let loose and the rain began in earnest so I called it a night.
