The second of three leased UP SD70M helps move freight north at Matanuska. Roughly 1 hour into their 12 hour journey. I took a similar shot at this location 3 weeks ago but from the other side as the sun had almost completed a circle.
Now three weeks later the nose is more nose on and in a couple more weeks the sun will be completely on this side. Losing about 5 minutes a day, the sun angles change quickly.
What worked a week or two doesn't necessarily look the same today. That's what makes Alaska so interesting. August 2024
