R.C. Eaton says of his photo, "This one is of an EMD MRS-1 (as you know they were made both by Alco and EMD). I caught this one outside the Anchorage shops in 1985 prior to being painted."   Curt Fortenberry added this editorial comment, "1714 was not painted while the ARR owned it. 1718 was the only MRS-1 painted into ARR livery. 1714 may have received some touch up, but I believe it was yellow to the end"
