EMD GP7u was built in 1951 (builder#15696) for the U.S. Army, #1826. The Alaska Railroad acquired it in 1976 and was rebuilt by the famed Illinois Central Railroad shops in Paducah, Kentucky. These photos were taken at the shops in Paducah. Many thanks to Mike Gerenday for bird dogging these photos!
