Troop train waiting to cross over to main line.  Diesel Shop - Elmendorf.  Photographer Gene Adoline was an enlisted man in the Army at Ft. Richardson in 1954.  Of his photograph, he recalls, "USAR S-2 ALCO, pulling Troop Train out of Elmendorf Air Force Base.  We never backed a Troop Train into the Air Force Base.  We used the S-2's on one end to assure that we did not have any crossing accidents.  When on the USAF base, the train was handled by the Army Railroad."
