Number 10A is a Wisconsin Southern E9A acquired from the Alaska Railroad
in 1992. Robert Garner says of the above photo, "These were taken
when my wife and I went on a short train ride (about 30 miles) just before
Christmas on the "Meet Santa special" just north of Madison, Wisconsin
at Waunakee. You'll note that new portholes have been installed
and the electronic bell is still on, new skirts have been installed and
"the plow" is still there. Basically they haven't changed much.
Sure would have been nice to get a cab ride! The units are run by a leasing
company now instead of the W&S."
