Number 1714 is an EMD SD-7 MRS1 engine, photo taken north end of Anchorage roundhouse, 1984. Engine was being put into service from storage. This engine came out of the Hawthorne, NV Navy munitions depot. This one was nicknamed "the screaming yellow zonker." It had virtually almost no hours on it when the AKRR got it (about 150 hours).
