An Engine 557 Restoration Company "meet and greet" was held Wednesday, August 22nd at 6:30 PM at the 557 Engine House (formerly Kenai Supply. Attendees got to view and photograph steam locomotive 557 and her tender plus experience a sampling of the restoration work in progress. After calling the event to order by ringing No. 557's re-polished bell, company president Patrick Durand addressed the audience, shared the vision for this historic project and introduced the restoration crew. Afterward, attendees mingled with the restoration crew and asked questions, swapped stories and shared their excitement. |
