DeBroeck's Asbestos Removal Photos

For the admirers of 557, here she is all stripped down with no jacket after a good scrubbing. These photos by Jeff DeBroeck were taken Friday evening, October 19, 2012. Engine 557 is down to the bare skin after a final wash by the Central Environmental Services crew. Earlier in the day they removed the plastic cocoon that had enclosed the project for the past week as the asbestos abatement was conducted. Volunteers will be back on the job Monday preparing for the next big adventure with Gypsy. This update brought to you by Engine 557 Restoration Company, Wasilla, Alaska
