Passenger Train Wreck
1944


This wreck occurred at Berg on December 21, 1944 and was caused by frost heaves. According to Bernadine Prince's "The Alaska Railroad" page 670 this was a southbound passenger train which derailed at mile 424.9. There were 89 passengers aboard, 38 of which were injured. Five crew members were injured as well.
