My Favorite SD70MAC Photos

Your pulse quickens when the huge behemeth first comes into view.  It is sheer poetry in motion and the thunder-like rumbling only adds to the magic of the moment.  You quickly grab your camera, plaster it to you face and click the shutter, thus making a permanent record of this rare encounter.  Maybe you took time off work or cut class to catch this historic event.  You may have driven for hundreds of miles or braved the cold or risked being caught by the security agent.  Needless to say, it was worth the effort!

I received 264 photos (43MB) from railfans across the United States who made a special effort to catch the brand new Alaska Railroad SD70MACs as they traveled from Canada and Pennsylvannia to Anchorage, Alaska.  Due to limited disk space, I was unable to keep these online.  As a special treat for you I have brought back 30 of my favorite photos.  Enjoy!
