He was a corporal during Alaskan service. He was discharged as a SGT on 27 October 1945.

After basic training at Fort McPherson, Georgia he was sent to Fort Belvoir, Virginia to train at the ERTC Engineer Replacement Training Center. He was in Co. B 7th ET Battalion, ERTC.

By February 1943 he was at Camp Shelby , Mississippi, with Co. A, 715th Railway Operating Battalion for training until his Alaskan Service. He is listed with the 715th while at Camp Shelby, but with the 714th afterward.

His Honorable Discharge certifies Alfred M. Lambert Sergeant Company A 714th Railway Battalion was discharged at Separation Center Indiantown Gap Military Reservation Pennsylvania 27 October 1945.

After returning from Alaska he served as an MP riding the rails transporting POW's to POW Camps in the US. He attended the Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia Correctional Custodial Personnel school.
