Keith Buck

Growing up I always liked model railroads. It was not until the mid 1970's while living in Montana I decided to build a model railroad in the apartment that I shared. I did the buildings and landscaping and my older brother did the electrical and then he died in a car accident during the project. He was 32. The project was never finished and discarded. I put my train stuff in storage.

I moved to Anchorage in December of 1980 and took train pictures when I had a chance and had film. I left Anchorage in August 1984 and have not been back.

While in Anchorage I spent lots of time down at Portage and took pictures when I had my camera and film. Trips to Whittier were for fishing or hunting, though I do not eat fish. I would trade my fish for beef.

If I had had more film, I probably would have taken many more train pictures but instead took lots of scenery pictures.
