Where is Christ among all
this suffering? Well, we found his handprints in the concrete we
poured, his brushstrokes on the walls we painted and his smile on the children
we befriended. We are the hands and feet of Jesus.
Our reward for our efforts came in the form of the grateful smiles of
the adults and children who watched us work at their miision and the comraderie
of a team of people from Stillwater who united in His service.
Everything
looks better with a fresh coat of paint! We sanded and painted
countless walls and bunkbeds. We took down wallpaper border in some
rooms and put it up in ours. No 9 to 5 job here!
Our
most important job was to touch the lives of the children who live at the
mission. Our group provided an arsenal of sidewalk chalk, coloring
books, jump ropes, bubbles, balloons, hula hoops and crafts. However,
the most important gift we gave them was the gift of our time.

Our
group also built a storage shed. All materials were purchased locally
thus helping to stimulate the Mexican economy.
