GOLDEN RAILS by the Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad is a history of the three foot narrow gauge gold rush railroad and Locomotive #1.  From arrival in 1905 through restoration and steam up, one hundred years after it was built, #1 has witnessed a century of railroading in Alaska.  Porter Builders Number 1972, the 0-4-0T locomotive operates on special occasions at Alaska Land in Fairbanks.  In 1914 this line was purchased to become the northern end of the Alaska Railroad and for some years operated into Fairbanks on dual gauge track.     20 Minutes   Cost $20.00
