DMUs at Fort Lupton
First picture shows Colorado Railcar DMU's
(Diesel Multiple Unit) which are self propelled (no locomotive needed) passenger
railcar. The lead unit is brand new and is a double deck DMU. The other is a
single level that was completed in 2002.
These two units left Fort Lupton today [6/8/05], and will arrive at Denver's
Union Station this afternoon, under their own power. After a press conference,
they are scheduled to go to Pueblo's TTC (Transportation Testing Center). They
will be there for a month before being placed into service on Florida's Tri-Rail
commuter service, based out of Miami.
The second picture shows the DMUs leaving, with Alaska Railroad's "Denali"
business car #1.
